A quick overview of how high a TV should be hung over a mantle to allow adequate space for a TV Frame.
When mounting a TV over a piece of furniture or a fireplace, it's common to need to know how how high above the furniture to mount the TV. This can vary based on many factors such as moulding width and just personal preference.
There are a few simply rules of thumb though if you need a quick answer to this common question.

For Framed TV Mirrors and TV Frame Only
For most of our frame mouldings, we suggest mount the TV so the bottom edge of the TV is 6" or more from the mantle. If the frame moulding you have selected is greater than 5" wide, you may want mount the TV an extra 1-2" higher.
Following this guideline will typically result in the bottom of the final frame being about 1-2" from the mantle. If you would like to see more of the wall below the frame, then you'll want to mount the TV higher on the wall.
